FIRST Choice Voucher

Last season’s FIRST^® Choice offering missed the mark for team satisfaction with the Kit of Parts. We heard this feedback from the community throughout the season and saw it reflected in satisfaction scores from the Kit of Parts survey. The two main reasons for the low satisfaction were a small number of “high value” items in FIRST Choice and the limited quantity of those “high value” items (especially Notes).

The overall satisfaction score for the Kit of Parts went up slightly from 2023. The satisfaction score for the Kickoff Kit went down slightly, and the satisfaction score for the Virtual Kit went up significantly. The satisfaction score for FIRST Choice dropped significantly.

We have heard your feedback and are taking steps to both respond to the issues from last year and increase the value of FIRST Choice in 2025. To respond to the issue from last season, all FIRST^® Robotics Competition teams who participated in the 2024 season will receive a $300 voucher towards their 2025 registration.

The vouchers will be automatically applied to the Registration Dashboard accounts for all 2024 FIRST Robotics Competition teams. If your team has already paid registration for the 2025 season, the funds can be used for additional event registration (including FIRST Championship registration) or regranted (to US-based teams) to be used for things like tools, robot materials, and travel.
