2026-2027 Season Pricing and Registration Updates

The 2026-2027 FIRST® CANOPY™ season will inspire students to engineer a thriving planet with biodiversity-themed challenges. With this upcoming season, we're excited to reveal a refreshed FIRST Dashboard and new FIRST Storefront purchasing experience for teams and Class Pack customers who register* through the FIRST Dashboard on firstinspires.org.

*If you are a FIRST® LEGO® League team or Class Pack customer outside the U.S. or Canada, or a FIRST® Tech Challenge team outside the U.S., Canada, or Mexico, contact your local partner for registration timing and details.

Updates Summary

  • Registration fees for FIRST programs will increase for the 2026-2027 season. Review essential details before planning your season budget.

  • Users will experience a refreshed FIRST Dashboard and FIRST Storefront purchasing experience, replacing the previous FIRST Dashboard and FIRST Tech Challenge PITSCO Storefront processes.

  • A new financial guarantor organization or institution set up will be required for teams and Class Packs looking to use a purchase order or sales tax-exempt certificate.

2026-2027 Season Pricing for All Programs

FIRST reviews registration fees annually to ensure we can continue delivering high-quality, high-impact programs. Detailed pricing information, including season registration and associated material costs, is now available for the 2026-2027. Please factor these adjustments into your season planning.

FIRST has updated its sales tax collection practices following a review by an independent tax consultant. Registrations that include physical items will be taxed based on the shipping address in applicable jurisdictions. Registration fees that do not include physical items, including event registrations, may also be subject to sales tax in certain areas. As a result, teams and Class Pack customers who were not previously taxed may see sales tax applied to their 2026-2027 registrations and purchases.

Refreshed FIRST Dashboard and FIRST Storefront Purchasing Experience

As the next step in our digital transformation efforts, users will experience a refreshed FIRST Dashboard and new FIRST Storefront. This refresh improves team management and creates a cohesive process for season and event registrations collected by FIRST Headquarters.

FIRST Dashboard User Experience Updates

In the FIRST Dashboard, lead coaches, team administrators, and Class Pack customers will have a new teams/Class Packs Dashboard experience, where all teams/Class Packs they are associated with can be viewed and edited. Individual team/Class Pack profiles will include the same information as before but will be reorganized into new sections that are easier to navigate and update.

New visual indicators for outstanding tasks, including roster invitations and coach/team member requirements, will help alert lead coaches and team administrators to actions needed for their team(s).

Introducing the FIRST Storefront

All FIRST teams and Class Packs registering through the FIRST Dashboard, including FIRST Tech Challenge teams from the United States, Canada, and Mexico**, will purchase their season registration and associated products through a new FIRST Storefront. The FIRST Storefront replaces the previous FIRST Dashboard and FIRST Tech Challenge PITSCO Storefront payment processes.

Teams that do not use a purchase order and sales tax exemption certificate can complete their registration without any additional steps. Lead coach 1, lead coach 2, team administrator, or Class Pack admin roles can complete the purchase on behalf of a team/Class Pack.

For teams/Class Packs planning to use a purchase order, use a sales tax exemption certificate, or looking to purchase registrations for multiple teams/Class Packs at one time, a “financial guarantor” will need to be associated with the team or Class Pack profile.

**More information about this registration payment change will be available in the next few weeks on the FIRST Tech Challenge blog.

New Financial Guarantor Set Up

If your team or Class Pack plans to apply a sales tax exemption certificate or purchase their registration or product using a purchase order, the team or Class Pack profile will need to be associated with a financial guarantor.

The financial guarantor is an organization or institution with an EIN (or international equivalent) that will allow a team or Class Pack to utilize the guarantor’s sales tax exemption certificate and complete payments with a purchase order from that organization. Each guarantor has an “organization administrator” responsible for reviewing the teams and Class Packs associated with the financial Guarantor. This individual also can make purchases for any teams or Class Packs under their financial guarantor.

More information about the financial guarantor and organization administrator setup will be available through the FIRST Help Center when registration opens. These new roles provide greater flexibility for schools and organizations managing multiple teams while maintaining proper documentation and accountability.
