The first round of event preferencing opens Thursday, September 25, at 12 pm (noon) eastern time! This blog has information that may be helpful as teams make their event selections. There is more information on the entire event preferencing system, including a user guide, on this resource page. A reminder that teams in FIRST in Michigan, FIRST North Carolina, Pacific Northwest, and FIRST Indiana use the “home event” registration process.
Two events (the Regional Monterrey and the California District San Diego Event) show as zero capacity. This is to help ensure local teams have access to the event. All teams who are placed into this event will go to the waitlist, then be added to the event by the Program Delivery Partner.

Events Still to Come
The only two Regional Events in Mexico that will be open for the first round of event preferencing are the Regional Monterrey presented by PrepaTec and the Regional Laguna presented by Peñoles. We are working on a potential third event and will share more information about that event when it is available. It will not be available to teams during the first round of event preferencing.
We are planning to have Regional Events in Quebec and British Columbia in 2026. These events will not be available for round 1 of event preferencing. We will share more about the events, including when they will be available to teams to register, as soon as we are able. For planning purposes, the Canadian Pacific Regional in British Columbia is very likely to be Week 1 or Week 2.

The following events from 2025 will not occur in 2026. FIRST® is working with partners in these regions to bring back these events in future seasons.
There will only be one regional in Arizona this year, the Arizona North Regional (please note the venue change from 2025).
The New Taipei City Regional will not occur in 2026.
